Size: HALF GALLON
Color: AQUAMARINE
Closure: correct original glass lid with 1879 patent date, and original metal clamp (rusty)
Appearance: shiny
Condition: normal flaking of the ground mouth
Strength of embossing: strong, note the reverse side of the jar is embossed with a "JCS" monogram
Base: "7" embossed backwards
Age: late 1800's
Availability: a scarce early odd-closure jar
