A rare clear (colorless) quart embossed "NEWMANS PATENT DEC 20 1859". Beautiful condition throughout with no damage or stains. Best of all, the jar comes with the EXTREMELY RARE ORIGINAL slip-on tin cap. The cap is in marvelous condition with traces of the original tinning and no rust whatsoever. It is extremely unusual to find this jar retaining the original cap, and this lid is without doubt the best possible example. The lid is guaranteed to be original to the jar. Unmarked base.
