A yellow amber quart embossed in two lines: "THE LEADER". This was one of the most eye-catching jars in the museum, due to the extreme exaggerated amounts of bubbling in the glass. And this type of defective glass was very unusual for this particular series of jars. The bubbling is so extreme that in one spot (above the "H") where two bubbles meet, that a pinhole perforation has actually formed in the jar. Retains the original glass lid and original 2-piece iron clamp assembly. Base: "30".

An early aqua quart stopper jar that is embossed in two lines of block lettering: "JONES YERKES PHILADa". The thick applied ring collar mouth was made for the standard 2-3/8 inch size Willoughby stopple (none included). The jar is in good shape and displays a nice whittled effect and strong embossing. The base heel has a small flake on one edge and there are two manufacturer's cooling flashes in the base as shown. They are original to the jar and do not appear to go all the way thru the glass. A great looking old jar that has very rarely been seen for sale.
