An early aqua quart with a smooth base and an applied ring collar mouth to accept the hollow-blown glass stopper. On top of the stopper is embossed: "KLINES PATENT OCT 27 63". The bottom of the stopper is made with an opening for a juice hole. The mouth of the jar even retains the original gasket, which is rare to find. Nice condition throughout with seedy glass character and no damage or stains. Base: "1".

Has a thin flake on the inner mouth, not quite detached. Unusual wax sealer mouth style with a ground lip finish and made for a detachable metal ring to serve as the outer mouth. Comes with an early tin cap. The metal ring is a fine old replica.

This rich olive yellow half gallon is one of the deepest colored examples we've seen from this mold. Embossed on the front "MASONS PATENT NOV 30TH 1858" and on the base "WCD 57". The first two lines of embossing are weaker than the rest. Beautiful attic condition with no damage or stains. Normal flaking of the ground rim. The base marking was for the W.C. DePauw Co of New Albany, Indiana. A great looking colored 1858 jar.

An aqua quart stopper-style jar that is strongly embossed: "Wm L. HALLER CARLISLE PA". Nice glass character that displays a good whittled effect and strongly raised lettering. Sparkling condition with no damage or stains. Applied ring collar mouth and a smooth base. Retains the very scarce, correct, original, large size 2-5/8" Willoughby cast iron stopple with all lettering good and clear. The bottom side has the original sheet iron covering that had some rust and was painted brown as shown. The stopple still retains the original sealing gasket in good shape and a perfect fit to the mouth of the jar. A fine example with rare correct stopper.

An aqua half gallon embossed on the front: "WHITNEY". Shiny glass throughout with no damage or stains. Normal minor flaking of the ground rim edge. Correct original glass lid with 1866 patent date, which is fastened to the mouth of the jar with a cylindrical zinc band. As with all examples of the jar, it is difficult to say whether the band is original, or re-made from an old standard band with the flange removed. Base: "WHITNEY GLASS WORKS GLASSBORO, NJ". A great looking example of this very scarce early jar.

An early aqua quart with an applied ring collar mouth and a smooth base. Original 7-piece cast iron stopple consisting of the base plate with threaded post, 3-sectored cast iron inserts, cast iron top plate impressed "BODINE & BROS PATENTED MARCH 26 1861 M HARBSTER MAKER READING PA", original cast iron wing nut, and original sealing gasket. The wing nut has been cleaned up and has a repaired ear. The stopper is in very good solid shape with some normal surface rust on the bottom, and all parts are in good working order.
