An aqua half gallon embossed on the front in strongly-raised script lettering: "THE BALL" and below that is block lettering: "PAT APL'D FOR". A gorgeous example with brilliant glass that displays a light whittled effect. Comes with an exceptionally nice correct original embossed sheet iron cap and original wire bail closure. The cap retains much of the original tin plating on the inside and all surfaces are clean with very little corrosion. The ground mouth has a rough edge as typical this jar. Base:"7". One of the finest examples of this jar that you may ever see.

In the shoulder of the jar is a hard-to see pot stone with small legs. Very hard to spot due to the location and the dark glass color. Excellent ground rim with very little nicking. The jar comes with only a make-do type closure, as the original has been lost.
