An aqua half gallon embossed on the front in strongly-raised script lettering: "THE BALL" and below that is block lettering: "PAT APL'D FOR". A gorgeous example with brilliant glass that displays a light whittled effect. Comes with an exceptionally nice correct original embossed sheet iron cap and original wire bail closure. The cap retains much of the original tin plating on the inside and all surfaces are clean with very little corrosion. The ground mouth has a rough edge as typical this jar. Base:"7". One of the finest examples of this jar that you may ever see.

There is a manufacturer's pot stone in the body of the jar with small radiations as shown. The ground mouth has edge flaking. A rare dark amber squatty quart sized jar embossed with a pictorial of a 4-leaf clover and "A.E. BRAY FRUIT JAR PAT PEND'G". Good condition with some scattered spots of deposit but no damage. In the shoulder of the jar is a hard-to see pot stone with small legs. Very hard to spot due to the location and the dark glass color. Excellent ground rim with very little nicking. The jar comes with only a make-do type closure, as the original has been lost. The color shown in the photo looks lighter due to this being a window shot....the color will appear MUCH darker on a shelf. Base: unmarked.
